Tips for Teachers to Avoid Compromising Situations Educators are often looked upon to be moral leaders for a community. They have such a profound impact on and contact with youth that they are often held to higher moral standards than the average person. They are expected to avoid compromising situations. Whether you agree or disagree with this sentiment, it is still a reality and one that should be taken into consideration for anyone thinking about becoming a teacher. It seems like you cannot open a newspaper or watch the news without seeing another educator that failed to avoid a compromising situation. These situations do not typically occur on whimsy, but instead, develop over a period of time. They almost always begin because the educator lacked good judgment and put themselves in a compromising situation. The situation continues and progresses for many different reasons. It likely could have been avoided if the educator would have acted rationally and worked to avoid the initial compromising situation. Educators would avoid 99% of these situations if they simply use good common sense. Once they make the initial error in judgment, it is almost impossible to correct the mistake without there being consequences. Educators cannot put themselves in a compromising situation. You must be proactive in avoiding these situations. There are several simple strategies to protect you from losing your career and going through unnecessary personal strife. Avoid Social Media Society is bombarded by social media every single day. Sites such as Facebook and Twitter will not be going away anytime soon. These sites offer all users the unique chance to allow friends and family to stay connected. The majority of students have one or multiple social media accounts, and they are on them all the time. Educators have to be careful when creating and using their own personal social media accounts. The first and most important rule is that students should never be accepted as friends or allowed to follow your personal site. It is a disaster waiting to happen. If for nothing else, students do not need to know all the personal information made readily available when given access to your site. Document/Report Situation if Unavoidable On occasion, there are some situations that cannot be avoided. This is especially true for coaches or coaches who may students waiting to be picked up when they are finished. Eventually, only one could be left. In that case, the coach/tutor could choose to go sit out in the car by themselves while the student waits at the doors inside the building. It would still be advantageous to let the building principal know the next morning and to document the situation, just to cover themselves. Never Be Truly Alone There are times when it may seem necessary to be alone with a student, but there is almost always a way to avoid it. If you need to have a conference with a student, especially with a student of the opposite sex, it is always wise to ask another teacher to sit in on the conference. If no other teacher is available to sit in on the conference, it may be better to postpone it, than to have it. At the very least, you can leave your door open and make sure others in the building are aware of what is going on. Do not put yourself in a situation where it could be a he said/she said type of deal. Never Befriend Students Many first year teachers fall victim to trying to be their students’ friend instead of being a solid, effective teacher. Very little good can come out of being a student’s friend. You are setting yourself up for trouble especially if you teach middle school or high school students. It is far better to be a good, hard nose teacher that most students do not like than it is to be one that is best friends with everyone. Students will take advantage of the latter and it often easily leads to compromising situations at some point. Never Exchange Cell Phone Numbers There are not many solid reasons to have a student’s phone number or for them to have yours. If you have given a student your cell phone number, you are simply asking for trouble. The texting era has led to an increase in compromising situations. Students, who would not dare say anything inappropriate to a teacher’s face, will be bold and brazen through a text. By giving a student your cell phone number, you open the door to those possibilities. If you do receive an inappropriate message, you could ignore it or report it, but why open yourself to that possibility when you can just keep your number private. Never Give Students a Ride Providing a student with a ride puts you in a liable situation. First of all, if you have a wreck and the student is injured or killed, you will be held responsible. That should be enough to deter this practice. People are also easily seen in cars. This can give people a false perspective that can lead to trouble. Let’s say that you innocently give a student whose car broke down a ride home. Someone in the community sees you and begins a rumor saying that you are having an inappropriate relationship with that student. It could ruin your credibility. It simply isn’t worth it, because there were likely other options. Never Respond to Personal Questions Students of all ages will ask personal questions. Set limits immediately when the school year begins and refuse to allow your students or yourself to cross that personal line. This is especially true if you are unmarried. It is no student’s business as to whether or not you have a boyfriend or girlfriend. If they cross the line by asking something too personal, tell them they crossed a line and then immediately report it to an administrator. Students often fish for information and will take things as far as you let them.

King Louis I of France - Louis the Pious Louis I was also known as: Louis the Pious or Louis the Debonair (in French, Louis le Pieux, or Louis le Dà ©bonnaire; in German, Ludwig der Fromme; known to contemporaries by the Latin Hludovicus or Chlodovicus). Louis I was known for: Holding the Carolingian Empire together in the wake of his father Charlemagnes death. Louis was the only designated heir to survive his father. In 813 he became co-emperor with his father, then, when Charlemagne died a year later, he inherited the empire though not the title Roman Emperor. The empire was a conglomerate of several different ethnic groups, including Franks, Saxons, Lombards, Jews, Byzantines and many others across a great span of territory. Charlemagne had handled the many differences and the large size of his realm by dividing it up into sub-kingdoms, but Louis represented himself not as a ruler of different ethnic groups, but as a leader of Christians in a unified land. He carefully structured a system whereby various territories could be assigned to his three grown sons while the empire remained intact. The birth of a fourth son in 823 to Louis and his second wife, Judith, triggered a dynastic crisis. Louiss elder sons, Pippin, Lothair and Louis the German, had maintained a delicate if uneasy balance, and when Louis attempted to reorganize the empire to include little Charles, resentment raised its ugly head. There was a palace revolt in 830, and in 833 when Louis agreed to meet Lothair to settle their differences (at what became known as the Field of Lies, in Alsace), he was instead confronted by all his sons and a coalition of their supporters, who forced him to abdicate. But within a year Louis had been released from confinement and was back in power. He continued to rule energetically and decisively until his death in 840. Therefore I have prepared two different Questionnaires. First for the existing customers of KMBL and the other one is for Non-Existing customers or new customers. I have prepared these questionnaires with the help of my project guide by keeping into the mind that these questionnaires are very much beneficial from company’s point of view because the result of this survey will help the bank to know their strengths and weakness and according to that they will take corrective actions on those areas. While I was studying about the bank I found that within a period of 1 year Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd has captured that Raipur market quite nicely. And while I was analyzing the data that I had collected through questionnaires I found that the products and service that Kotak Mahindra Bank ltd is the major part because of which customers are attracting towards this bank. Because the service and products Kotak is providing is quite unique from other banks apart from this the major weak point or the lacking point that Kotak Mahindra bank has to consider is the promotional activity of Kotak Mahindra Bank is very poor. Many persons are there who don’t know about this bank. Another thing is that minimum a/c balance in this bank is quite high i;e. AQB (average quarterly balance). Apart from my project I did business for the Bank. I used to go out to the market for selling products of the bank and I really sold their products. Due to this I grab great experience to communicate with different types of customers, which was really good experience and will help me in my future course of life. The major part of my training is I went t o siltara at NECO and Corporate Ispat alloys ltd. This was the greatest experience of my life to see big plants and machineries along with which I talk to the HR person and officers there. Regarding the salary accounts of their employees. During my summer training I was called by my project guide to give presentations on the Bank products in front of all the employees after studying the products and services. And after the presentations they used to ask questions to me. And I really appreciated by my staff members and coulleges. During the collection of the data I found some difficulties like the customers had no time to give time or they were too busy with their works and in most cases they were not available at their places. I generally went into the market in hard sunlight and manier times its rains. I took some action to solve these problems like I took data through telephone, observation. There is one thing that I have found that the peoples working at Kotak Mahindra Bank ltd are very much helpful in all areas. Every time they come to me and told me that they are available at anytime for me for anything, which really boost me and motivates me towards my goal and objectives. Also, in alternative medicine each and every sign and symptom is understood and interpreted in relationship to all the others. A supplier partnering agreement Essay

Introduction The supplier partnering agreement at the University of Las Vegas case reflects the initiative of the Nevada Office Supply Company (NOSC) to become the sole supplier of office goods, not only to the University, but also to all state institutions involved in education. NOSC already is a major supplier to these institutions with approximately 50% of the business, and has provided competitive prices, good quality and service in the 15 years the company has been present in the industry. NOSC wants to go beyond and take the full 100% of the business by offering the University a series of incentives in the form of discounts and rebates. NOSC doesn’t want any bidding competition with the other 7 suppliers and gave Mr. Bob Ashby, the purchasing director at the University, 15 days to accept the offer. This case represents a good opportunity for both NOSC and the University of Las Vegas to increase their business ties. Mr. Ashby wanted to reduce the number of suppliers in order to reduce the number of purchase orders, the number of contracts, and the number of delivery trucks on campus. On the other hand, NOSC expects to grow and increase its sales by about 20% next year. This forecast was based on the continuous growth seen in the gaming sector, the education system and the population growth of Las Vegas and the state of Nevada. This partnering agreement will allow NOSC to meet the 20% growth figures forecasted and take the full office supply demand in the region that amounts to $1 million to $1.5 million a year. It will also help the University of Las Vegas to streamline the flow of office supplies and take advantage of the very attractive discounts (between 50% and 70%) in addition to the 2% rebate from all combined purchases when they exceed $1 million offered by NOSC. On the contrary, this agreement will allow NOSC to form a monopoly in this sector and as a result, this move might drive small suppliers out of business. Discussion Questions 1. What legal issues involved in NOSC’s proposal? NOSC’s proposal, which ultimately persuades Mr. Bob Ashby not to perform a regular bidding competition process, has the potential to be illegal. Under the Sherman Act of 1890 any type of agreement or conduct that  restricts trade and destroys competition, is considered illegal. â€Å"The Sherman Act rests on a legislative judgment that ultimately competition will produce not only lower prices, but also better goods and services. Section 2 stands as a vital safeguard of that competitive process. Individual firms with monopoly power can act anticompetitively and harm consumer welfare.Firms with ill-gotten monopoly power can inflict on consumers higher prices, reduced output, and poorer quality goods or services. Additionally, in certain circumstances, the existence of a monopoly can stymie innovation† (â€Å"Competition and Monopoly: Single-Firm Conduct Under Section 2 of The Sherman Act† 10-11) Even though both parties have a potential gain in this agreement, the fact that NOSC is requesting to be the education system’s sole office supplier in the growing area of Las Vegas and the State of Nevada, and most likely wants to eliminate some of the competition, makes it an illegal and unfair act against the other suppliers. The true meaning of a free market economy arises from acts that lead to healthy competition, cost reduction and better product quality. It is likely that if Mr. Ashby brings to the table other suppliers, they may be able to match or even surpass the offer NOSC is proposing. This is the free market and healthy competition in action. 2. What are the ethical issues? As stated previously, NOSC’s intention with this negotiation is to monopolize the growing office supply business the University of Las Vegas and other educational institutions demand. By asking Mr. Ashby to exclude the other suppliers from the negotiating table, NOSC is negating the possibility for others to help decide what’s in the best interest of the University and the education system when it comes to ordering office supplies. If this agreement goes through, it is possible that some small suppliers end up closing their business due to this unfair act. This can be an example where ethical sourcing, which attempts to take into account the public consequences of organizational buying, is put aside. A transparent organized bidding process should be the option to make sure that the best possible agreement can be reached without sacrificing good quality and  competitive prices. 3. How should Mr. Ashby analyze the proposal? Mr. Ashby needs to decline the proposal regardless of how attractive and profitable it might look. The right approach is to call on NOSC and invite them to participate in a real bidding competition, where the other 7 suppliers have the chance to expose their ideas on cost reduction and business incentives. After having heard the others and still NOSC’s offer is the most attractive, at this point it is in the best interest of the University to choose to do business with NOSC. In my opinion, The University should keep some number of suppliers to diversify the stream of supplies coming in, and allow the development of each of them individually in case one or two of them can’t continue to comply with the University’s needs. Conclusion The possible agreement between The University of Las Vegas and NOSC, where NOSC would supply the 100% of all the University’s office goods need, may be perceived as unethical and opportunistic. This move might leave some of the smaller suppliers out of business and would close any door leading to similar or better opportunity with other supplier. This business relationship would go against the Sherman Act of 1890, which prohibits any type of monopoly and acts that destroys competition. Regardless of the great business opportunity this partnership represents on the table in terms of cost and administrative work reduction for ULV and profit opportunity and market growth for NOSC, this agreement has some potential for failure. What would happen in the event that NOSC can’t comply with ULV’s demands? There needs to be a pool of suppliers ULV can count on in the unlikely event NOSC is unable to meet its responsibilities. Instead of taking the path of one sole supplier , ULV should implement a policy of supplier development, where it can help develop and better the performance of many suppliers. Domestic Violence In Sports Essay

Throughout history, sports players have been in the public eye. They’re much thought of as the heroic figures to those who desire a career in the league or even the â€Å"die hard† fans who are dedicated. When thinking of the stereotypical traits of a heroic figure as someone who’s trustworthy, honesty and viewed to be an untouchable individual. But as we all know not every story is what some may call â€Å"picture perfect†. People fail to realize that their champion winning sports players we cheer on during game days are just like everyone in the world. The question being how can we establish a connection with ones that real side may barely be shown? In recent weeks, sports media has been booming with tabloids about domestic violence cases of well-known players in their leagues. As we the public become intrigued to see these players fall from their immortal status from committing such a crime thought to be impossible for them. As fans typically only take a glance of their lives on the field; I come to wonder if it’s more of a shock to them or a reality of everyone’s ability to be held equally. Would the standards be different if your position in society didn’t matter as much as the crime that has been committed should? An article published online in USA Today last week, states that even with the multiple controversies going on in the NFL and the nation, is taking much needed action towards players involved in the domestic violence convictions such as. Actions are also being taken in teams like the Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, was charged with a domestic violence case with an assault his then-fiancà ©e Janay Rice, who was left unconscious for in an elevator. Rice is known to have a clean record, after authorities released the video of Rice and his then fiancà ©e knocked out; the agreement between the NFL and the Ravens to end Rice’s contract following up with an indefinite suspension. This decision was reported by researchers- Erik Brady and Jim Corbett both journalist for USA Today. In addition to the NFL furthers taking action an article by researcher Will Brinson a Senior NFL Writer, writes weekly articles and directs videos for CBS Sports.com. Domestic violence is the behavior used by one person in a relationship to control the other. This violence takes place in many forms and can happen all the time or once in a while. Although both men and women are susceptible to abuse, the most common cases are known to be found dealing with women who have been in some form neglected or abused. In studies cases of domestic violence have been on the rise, meaning more cases of not just celebrities but people all around the nat ion. As the talk rises of domestic violence cases pertaining to sports people see this as tragedy and a new cause to crime that has been happening for decades. It’s taken little pity on the actual victim but more on the player who is at fault. In the SBNation article written by Stephen â€Å"Poseour† Blake, stating that most fans are leaning towards defending team players rather than raising awareness for those who have been emotionally and physically impacted by the crime done. When do we ask ourselves, is supporting something worth it? With a personal belief that we should live by the rules of treating everyone with fairness and honesty as fans indicate sports players to be. In conclusion, I think that athletes are treated to an alternate standard compared to everyone because more is invested into their successful than their downfall. More cases of domestic violence are becoming better known to the public; especially in sports mostly pertaining to players in the NFL league. My feelings towards this topic are that even with fame of being known for a talent is a very rare accomplishment that’s few get to achieve. People still need to realize that no matter how famous a person becomes their still accountable for their actions. Personally I think that more should be done to the person accused of the crime just as equally for someone who isn’t on the fame radar. Punishment shouldn’t have a limit just because this person is well- known. Alon g with fans treating the victims more like the criminals instead of the players. When in reality  being a â€Å"die hard† fan doesn’t always mean supporting what’s wrong.

Webpage FX This Pennsylvania-based agency sometimes sends emails that are written like full blog posts. Ordinarily, you might think this goes against best practice, because no one will read the post on your site if they can get it in their email. But, is that a problem as long as they’re getting your content? That appears to be the logic here, because instead of sending readers somewhere else to read, they smartly link out to a call to action (turning three clicks from email to blog to CTA down to just two, from the email to a landing page). In-line images even use directional markup like they would in a blog post: Then, once they have the reader hooked, they let them know, â€Å"Hey, our agency can help you execute this.† It’s a great example of offering enough information to be helpful, but leaving enough out to where one might want some assistance. Unless you’re getting dressed for a summer day, most of us don’t care that much about shorts. So, if you have a product that’s mostly utilitarian, or just something that’s not super jump-off-the-screen exciting, make it not boring. That can be as simple as writing loose copy that feels like it came from a real person, to making full-blown comedy what you stake your brand on (you need to be good if you’re going to go this route). Mozilla If you subscribe to lots of email newsletters (and most marketers probably do), it can easy to forget who or what exactly some things are that end up in your inbox. So, they smartly include explainer boilerplate copy at the end of their email promoting each episode, reminding you what this specific thing from Mozilla is all about: How to Emulate This Example If you send emails to promote a recurring content series (like a podcast, YouTube show, or something else), include something at the end reminding recipients what it’s all about. This will help build awareness around your series or show and help people separate those emails from your other newsletters, offers, and general email content. People get a lot of email. How do you remind them who you are (in case they might have forgotten)? 19. Book Riot Book Riot packs a ton of information and value into their events newsletter. The intro copy is fairly standard: Followed by some sponsored content (an easy way to monetize your list): After that is an extensive listing of book-related events: Including more events for touring authors: Plus events that are upcoming: The way they keep this all from getting too repetitive is to break up the formatting in each section. Each one looks distinct, and the events are listed in order of priority. Then, at the end is a well-designed CTA graphic: Overall, this packs tons of content into a well laid out newsletter. How to Emulate This Example You can cram a lot of content into an email newsletter without it feeling like too much, as long as the visual layout is broken up to be easily skimmable. Microsoft Want to get people engaged with your email? Make it fun and interactive. That’s exactly what Microsoft does with its rewards quiz emails. The defendant charged with attempted murder, tried and awarded death sentence. He subsequently went on to appeal against the judgment of the trial court to the Court of Appeal on the plea that the doctors had broken the cycle of life by deliberately switching off the life supporting machine. The plea was dismissed. It was held by the Court of Appeal that since the operating and substantial factors involved that cause the death of wounded woman which was initially inflicted upon by the defendant. The court was of the view that since the role of life supporting machine was confined to keep the injuries in suspension, therefore, as soon as the machine went off the original wounds came on the surface causing death of wounded woman3. Apart from the above, the badly wounded person may succumb to injuries as a natural consequence of the defendant acts. In the mentioned scenario the defendant got hold of death. Suppose a person is attacked and left in the lurch on the road side. The attacker will be liable for punishment if the wounded person dies of oozing out blood, for infectious wounds of him, run over by th e speedy vehicle. The other way round, defendant would not be accountable provided he / she killed by another murderer or killed under the debris of a collapsible building due to hell of a tremor.
